Safeguard Helideck Certification

Safeguard Helideck Certification (SHC) is an accredited Aviation Inspection Body (AIB) licensed to issue Helicopter Landing Area Certificates (HLAC), Helicopter Landing Area Inspection Reports (HLAIR) and Helicopter Landing Area Technical Certificates (HLATC) on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The team come from a Royal Navy background and bring decades of experience in the safe management of helicopter operations at sea. As an AIB they offer expert consultancy support for the safe design, use and annual management of superyacht helicopter landing areas.

As well as providing onboard certification services the team also works closely with a number of superyacht designers and builders to ensure that the initial design ideas will meet the requirements of the regulations. This can greatly reduce the risk of having a landing area that fails to meet the standards needed to operate the owner’s chosen helicopter. The team will travel to wherever they are needed and can also offer consultancy for any owner/operator required improvements or alterations to an existing Helideck area, ensuring these changes will be compliant with the regulations.
